Grassfield LB Picks Virginia Tech

Grassfield linebacker Drew Burns was one of eight seniors at the Chesapeake school that was highlighted as still available after National Signing Day. The 6-4 215 pound tight end and linebacker visited Virginia Tech today and made his commitment. Burns has accepted a preferred walk-on with the Hokies.

Grizzlies coach Martin Asprey mentioned just a couple of weeks ago that Burns had narrowed his choices to walk-on opportunities at either Old Dominion or Virginia Tech.

Burns is a stellar fit for the Hokies. Later this weekend, we’ll have more information on his commitment and his future plans in Blacksburg.
