Junior Rank: Wide Receivers Report
The wide receivers at this past weekend’s Junior Rank camp sure made a splash. The camp’s Fastest Man and one of only two Excellence in Leadership awards went to a wide receiver this time. It was a crop of wideout that was deep and strong, all weekend long.
Points To Consider: ODU Stays or C-USA?
The Atlantic 10 Conference has officially welcomed the Rams of Virginia Commonwealth University. This ends about seven weeks of rumors that VCU would abandon the Virginia-centric Colonial Athletic Association. The rumors were accurate only to a degree. George Mason was first listed as possibly joining. However, the A-10 elected to only add two members, VCU and Butler. Now more than ever, attention turns to ODU.

The running back corps at this past weekend’s Junior Rank camp was phenomenal. We had speedsters and bulls. There was talent at all age levels. The future and the now of The 757 was on display at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School.

This past weekend’s Junior Rank Camp was a photographer’s dream. The weather was fantastic and the talent was plentiful. That gave us an opportunity to gather a library of photos as the event unfolded.
Blanding Bags Nike MVP, New Offer
Quin Blanding is on quite a roll. The sophomore safety visited Nike’s Baltimore Camp and was recognized as a top camper, then today Bayside was visited by a Big 10 school and Blanding bagged a new scholarship offer.

The Junior Rank Diamond Flight Camp is an excellent learning opportunity. Unlike a combine, players are coached for the game, for their position and for life as a young man. Each position gets specific coaching at a Junior Rank camp and Virginia Beach’s crop of quarterbacks was plentiful.

Day two at the Junior Rank Diamond Flight Camp at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School in Virginia Beach was in many ways a continuation of the first. Many of the top performers carried through from Saturday’s session, a few tapered off and a few rose to the challenge and posted improvements on the second day.

BCS Interest Extending To Other Phantoms
The Phoebus Phantoms are seeing an unprecedented amount of early attention for their rising seniors and juniors. Alabama visited Phoebus on Thursday and handpicked no fewer than three kids they’re interested in. They’re not the only big time school that’s chasing after Phantoms at this time of the year.
Brown and Bowens Add Offers
The rich just get richer. Blue chip prospects Andrew Brown and Kwamane Bowens added new scholarship offers on Thursday. The Indian River lineman and Salem wide receiver picked up BCS offers from two different schools. Both were significant. Both add to the growing total of college options for each player.
