There’s a strong possibility another half dozen seniors at Oscar Smith will go on to play college ball.

With one game to go in Divisions 5 and 6, the playoff teams are almost set. In Division 6, we know who’s in and who’s out. In Division 5, seven teams are in and as many as four teams have a shot at the last playoff berth. Then it’s just a matter of seeding.

This year, Oscar Smith has a new quarterback at the helm. Jaylian “J.J.” Williamson (JR QB 5-9 155) replaced Phillip Sims in the spring and came in with some big shoes to fill. As a first time, junior starter at QB, Williamson has excelled. The Oscar Smith offense has shown no sign of waning under J.J.’s leadership. Sequan Gooding (SR WR/DB 6-0 170) is one of several senior leaders on the Oscar Smith defense. He’s rock solid in the secondary and he’s a great option for Williamson in the passing game.
