The running back corps at this past weekend’s Junior Rank camp was phenomenal. We had speedsters and bulls. There was talent at all age levels. The future and the now of The 757 was on display at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School.
Junior Rank: Excellence in Leadership Awards
Day two at the Junior Rank Diamond Flight Camp at Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School in Virginia Beach was in many ways a continuation of the first. Many of the top performers carried through from Saturday’s session, a few tapered off and a few rose to the challenge and posted improvements on the second day.

In the Saturday afternoon session at Bethel High School, the locals dominated once again. There’s a lot of talent in The 757. That must be what keeps Schuman’s coming back.

As a student-athlete, you have even more details to juggle. What’s the NCAA Clearinghouse? What classes do I have to take? How do I figure out what colleges might be a fit for me? If I don’t get a scholarship, how will we pay for it? There’s now one event where all of your questions can be answered.
Western Branch Names New Coach
After an exhaustive search, Western Branch has a new head coach for Football. Athletic Director Mark Didawick made the formal annoucement Tuesday afternoon. This newcomer has just begun to get his feet wet in 757 Football, and now he’s going to take the Southeastern District head on.

In an effort to make our database as complete as possible, we’ve added 15 more players this week. It’s our goal to completely document all the college eligible football talent in the region. We cover as much as we can. In the latest group of players added to the website, you’ll find players from the Peninsula and the Southside. You’ll find players from the Tri-Rivers, Peninsula, Southeastern, Beach, and Eastern Districts.
Haynes Happy With HU Commitment
Lineman Marcus Haynes of I.C. Norcom High School finalized his commitment to Hampton University on Wednesday with his signed letter of intent. There was a small celebration at I.C. Norcom earlier this week, where the staff at I.C. Norcom, Marcus’ mother and Marcus himself got to soak in the reality of Marcus’ rise to the ranks of college football.
Haley Commits To HU
Churchland lineman Jahmil Haley earned the respect of his opponents over the course of his senior season. As a senior captain of the Churchland defense, he was often seen as the main threat to opposing offenses. Now Jahmil has settled on his college destination, and he’s not going far from home.

It’s the old hand against the young gun. Even before Phoebus fell to Woodside in the regular season and their winning streak stopped at 52, their demise has been the topic of conversation. The trouble is, those Phantoms keep hanging around.
Greyhound Oust Crabbers, Avenge Early Season Loss
Norcom came in with something to prove. Maybe the Crabbers came in looking forward a bit. It all played out in Darling Stadium on Saturday night, where the Crabbers jumped out early, then got bogged down in penalties and ineffectiveness while the Greyhounds bounded back into the game and shut Hampton down.
